How Long Was Jesus’ Hand?
Pastor Tony Utulu
Text: Matthew 14:22-33
We have heard so much about what happened to Peter
when he looked away from Jesus Christ because of the storm -- “But when he saw
the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” (v.
29-30). The question I ask is, 'How long was Jesus’ hand?' The scripture says
“Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,”
he said, “why did you doubt?” (v.31). Note that it was not said that He walked
or ran to him, right? This happened when Jesus Christ was still in the human
flesh, He was not transformed yet, right? In His natural form, His hands should
be of the same length as a normal adult. This showed that Peter was VERY
CLOSE to reaching the goal – to meet Jesus Christ, reaching his
miracle, blessing... Unfortunately, he gave up.
This is one of the major challenges we have and are
facing to date. Most times, we get tired, distracted, and give up when we
are VERY CLOSE to hitting the mark; VERY CLOSE to
grabbing the crown (answers to prayers, miracles, breakthroughs, etc. Peter
never walked on water. He would have been the first natural-born human being to
walk on water (achieve what no one had ever achieved). He failed because
of False Evidence Appearing to be Real
(fear), distractions, lack of or a drop in the level of his confidence (faith),
and so on.
Brethren, I want to encourage someone today. When
your “waiting time” starts becoming tiring, frustrating,
irritating, etc., note that the journey is almost over. Just wait a
little more and Jesus will not only have to stretch His hand to grab you, but
you will walk into His embrace. Do you know what that means? It
means walking into the answer(s) to the question(s) you have been asking. It
means walking into your time of testimonies. Your time is here; WAIT!
See Proverbs 24:10;
Isaiah 40:31;
Psalm 25:3;
Romans
10:11.
Be encouraged! Stay
Connected; Stay Blessed
